MAK524 Sürdürülebilir Enerji Sistem Mühendisliği (3-0-7,5) (Sustainable Energy System EngineeringYeni Ders!!

All academic, industrial, social, economic and political sectors, both nationally and internationally, can only grasp one of the two main reasons for the global crisis, they construct and implement solutions within the narrow framework of the first law of thermodynamics, and they cannot go beyond known financial supports. Therefore, known measures such as energy efficiency, waste management and the use of renewable energy sources are inadequate and carbon dioxide emissions are increasing. In other words, society can accurately monitor the amount of carbon dioxide measured or calculated in the atmosphere, but it overlooks at least the other half of the possible solutions. As a result, it does not seem possible to achieve the 2050 projections and targets of the Paris Climate Agreement and the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). This course will go far beyond the known graduate course format and will bring to the fore the second law of thermodynamics, which is essential in solving the global crisis, and will enable students to understand that the added value potential (quality) of energy is more important than its quantity (quantity). Students will discover the existence of sustainable solutions step by step and their own solutions focused on the Paris Agreement through course teachings and their own projects, and in this context, they will reach the consciousness that they can offer innovative solutions and strategies to society with their knowledge, skills and experiences. This course within the broad scope of sustainability will provide a holistic knowledge and horizon-expanding platform for OSTİM undergraduate students, other university undergraduate and graduate students, industrialists, financial managers and decision-makers.
